My Ladybug Birthday Cake Topper

My little Ladybug from my 'Halloween Kids Collection' has branched out!  She's now a sweet Birthday Cake Topper!!  When a customer, who's having a Ladybug themed birthday party for her daughter, asked if my little ladybug could be customized into a birthday cake topper, she placed the order when I said; "YES, it sure can be customized!"  ANY of my clay creations can be customized!!  Please contact me if you see something in my Etsy Shop that you would like to have customized for someone special in your life.  I would love to work with you to come up with something that is a One-of-a-Kind Cake Topper, Ornament or Keepsake Figurine just for you!  Here's the little Ladybug Birthday Cake Topper:

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  She's so sweet, holding her big chocolate cupcake with pink frosting and red sprinkles and her shiny pink balloon!  The balloon is tied to her wrist with a little red bow and because it's her first birthday, there's a number one on the balloon.  Her wings and headband are painted with a sparkle glaze and she stands approximately 3 3/4" tall (to the tip of her antennas) and 2" wide.  In the grass, beside her, are two little pink flowers and a cute little ladybug.

Colorful Ceramics

I love the bold colors and the whimsical feel to this amazing ceramic work!!

In the Artist's own Words:
I love making ceramics that are enjoyable to look at and fun, and I hope you like them too.  All of my work is in earthenware clay, both terra cotta and white talc eathenware. The clay gets bisque fired to around 1900 F (cone 05-06), then glaze is applied and the pieces are fired again. All of my work is entirely hand made so even if there are similar pieces, there will be differences.

My Pirate and Renaissance Wedding Cake Topper

The season for weddings is fast approaching, and I have been very busy creating some fun and exciting new wedding cake toppers!   Earlier this week I introduced my Fireman and Bride Wedding Cake Topper, and today I am introducing my Pirate and Renaissance Wedding Cake Topper.  They are both listed in my Etsy Shop; Trina's Clay Creations ~ as examples of a Cake Toppers that I can customize just for you!  And, of course, no two toppers are ever the same!  Each is lovingly handmade by me, they are made to be one of a kind toppers and keepsakes to be enjoyed for years to come.  :)

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  The bride is wearing a burgundy dress with a tan lacy floral design and she is holding a single burgundy rose.  There is a matching rose in her hair, placed just below her bun.  The groom is dressed in a pirate outfit, the jacket has a design stamped in and has gold buttons adorning it, and he's wearing a gold ruffled shirt.  His sword and his tankard are hanging from his belt, and there are two gold feathers in his pirate hat.  The topper stands approximately 4" tall on a 3" base.  The base is made to look like sand and I created a burgundy rose and some greenery to decorate the date plaque.  The whole piece was antiqued to bring out the detail and to give it an aged look, like it's from a different era, like it is right from the Renaissance period.  Made entirely from polymer clay, this topper will be a special keepsake for the couple, a reminder of a very special day!  Click HERE to see this topper in my Etsy Shop.

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  I loved creating this one, it has so much wonderful detail, and as you may already know... The details are my favorite part of creating my clay pieces!  My customer said she will be sending me pictures after the wedding and I can't wait to see them!  I will be sure and post them here on my blog too! :)

Here's the wonderful feedback she gave me when she received the topper in the mail:
"I am so happy with my cake topper and have to get pics posted. She did an amazing job and I cannot sing enough praises of her work. Beautiful!! And so quick!! I definitely recommend her. We asked for a pirate cake topper for our wedding. Sent her photos of my dress from the seamstress's website and photos of my fiance in his outfit. She is great in communicating and asking us for input and suggesting ideas. I never imagined how much detail she would put into it!! I absolutely love it and would definitely buy from her again!! You cannot go wrong with a cake topper from Trina!! Amazing talent!!"

I always put so much love into my creations, paying special attention to every detail, and nothing makes me happier ~ or makes my work more worthwhile ~ than a happy and satisfied customer!!  I thank her, and I thank all of my customers for their purchases and for their wonderful feedback!!  I appreciate each of you so much!  :)

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Thank You for visiting today!  I hope you will 'stay tuned' for more of my wedding cake toppers, coming soon!  Wishing you a great day!  ~Trina

By: Billi's Paper Batiks
Polymer clay brooch made with a recycled vintage earring as the centerpiece. This is a statement brooch and a piece of wearable art titled, "Springtime Fan". This pin is entirely original and OOAK.  The vintage earring is originally from a pair of quality costume jewelry earrings made in the 1960's. It is a clear 3" Bakelite tear drop shaped finding with iridescent flakes and a large rhinestone in the center bottom. The round cabochon at the top is 18mm and the background of polymer clay can be seen through it.  The brooch has been sanded and buffed to a high gloss finish. There is no paint used, all color is polymer clay. A sturdy pin finding with safety latch has been adhered to and secured with a layer of baked polymer clay. I use Sculpey III and Premo polymer clay.

My Fireman and Bride Wedding Cake Topper

Introducing my Fireman and Bride Wedding Cake Topper... I created this topper as a custom order for customers who wanted a Fireman and Bride.  The Fireman is wearing his black firefighter coat and hat, and as you can tell by his smile, this is the happiest day of his life!  The bride is wearing a lace A-Line Dress and Veil.  There is a lot of detail in her dress and veil, I used a lace-like rubber stamp with hearts and vines to create the lacy design.  She has long, curly red hair and is holding a bouquet of green daisies.  The topper stands approximately 5" tall on a 3" base.  Several of my Fireman and Bride Wedding Cake Toppers are listed in my Etsy Shop;  Trina's Clay Creations:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/trinasclaycreations as examples of Wedding Cake Toppers I can customize just for you!

Etsy Finds Friday - A Twist of Whimsy

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Whimsical and Eclectic
Jewelry Created by:
Gayle of
A Twist of Whimsy

Beautiful Handmade Artisan Metal and Gemstone Jewelry!!

In the Artist's own Words:
You should know that I am crazy about designing and crafting jewelry. When I am not working at my full-time job, traveling, keeping house, or spending time with family and friends, I am in my studio sawing, etching, stamping, soldering and hammering. I would love to spend all day in my studio and I’m hoping that someday…well, you know.

I guess you could say my style is eclectic. I think it’s more whimsical than sophisticated, thus the name “A Twist of Whimsy.” I work mostly with metals creating pendants out of copper, sterling silver and brass. But I love gemstones and glass beads and like to include them in my pieces for color and to dress up an otherwise plain chain.

I was thrilled when a local gallery contacted me recently with an interest in my work. If you’re in the Nashville area, you can find some of my pieces at Laurel Leaf Gallery in Leipers Fork.

Layered Necklace Sterling Silver Copper Mixed Metal Green Bronze African Jade Gemstone
Layered Sterling Silver Copper Mix Necklace
Unique sterling silver and copper layered pendant with green and bronze african jade gemstones.  After cutting the pendant shapes, I gently curved them and gave them a torched patina. Dangling from the sterling silver layer is a round african jade gemstone with a hammered tail. Diamond shaped sterling silver Hill Tribe beads and more african jade gemstones along the sterling silver chain add interest. The necklace closes with one of my hand forged sterling silver clasps. All sterling silver and copper has been tumble polished and sealed with Renaissance wax.

Red Etched Copper Earrings Czech Glass Picasso Faceted Beads Domed Metal Discs Architectural Design
Red Etched Copper Earrings Czech Glass Picasso
Etched copper domed discs dangle from mixed cherry red and brown Czech Picasso faceted glass rondelles. The etched pattern on the handcut discs is an architectural design. They hang from copper earwires. The copper has been oxidized and tumble polished.  Length: 1-3/4" (44.4 mm) from curve of earwire.  Discs measure 5/8" (17.1 mm) in diameter.

Red Heart Collage Necklace Copper Resin Pendant Czech Beads Cold Connected
Red Heart Collage Necklace ~ Copper Resin Pendant
The centerpiece of this copper necklace is a red heart collage image sealed in ICE resin and mounted on a copper back cut to look as though the image was torn. The collage was then cold connected to a larger copper back with copper rivets. The pendant hangs from an antique copper chain that features beautiful multi-color fire polished Czech glass beads mostly red and blue with a Picasso finish. Each set of three is separated by a copper heart bead. The necklace fastens with a handmade copper clasp.  All copper has been oxidized to add to the rustic style. Polished and sealed with Renaissance wax.

Today I am featuring the
Beautiful Ceramic Creations
by:
Pamela Petry of
Seeing Is Believing

I just love each piece that Pamela creates, each one is so unique and special!!  I am happy to feature her beautiful and earthy artwork here today!

In the Artist's Own Words:
I grew up in Lower Michigan with the opportunity to spend my summers on my grandparents farm in Kansas. I have always loved being outdoors with all kinds of nature, from the green mossy trees of the Greater Northwest to the flowing wheat fields of the Midwest. This is where my true Love lies! I Graduated with a Graphic Design Degree from Ferris State University in Michigan, a long time ago. But have always kept some form of art close in hand. When I made the move to Washington I took up a Pottery Class and loved it ever since.  Structure has never been my strong suit. I have always loved the free flow of design along with a twist of whimsicality. I'm not saying I will never create something structured. But just at this moment in time I Love being a bit more free with my pieces. Each one is unique, no matter if I am submerging my fingers in Clay, Paint or Fabric. I have a passion for nature and I feel each piece reflect that.

Heart Shaped Dragonfly and Circle Rattle
Heart Shaped Dragonfly and Circle Rattle
This One of a Kind Whimsical Heart Rattle is very Unique. It's one of those pieces of art that you just want to touch and can't put down. Once you do pick it up, give it a shake and you will find the precious little hidden treasure. It contains two different designs so you will never feel like it's that same piece.

READY TO SHIP Free Formed Ceramic Earrings with Daisy Design
Free Formed Ceramic Earrings
You got to love these free formed earthenware clay earrings with a daisy design!. Each piece is made from stamps that I have created myself. They are very lightweight and a pair you could wear everyday, this is what I love about these little treasures.

Heart Shaped Wall Plaque
This Unique Ceramic Heart Wall Plaque is created with Butterflies and Circles. It is also stamped with the words "the beauty lies within". It can adorn a wall all by itself or as a grouping. You will truly love this piece as soon as you open they package!  This is one of the large heart plaques that is glazed in Turquoise, Golden Yellow and Brown. It's pretty earthy so you will find divots, cracks, scratches and a possible hole, this is how it was intended to be made.
